Ingrid's Story

Ingrid Sojit was born in Argentina and migrated to the US as a child. Before settling in Western Washington, she  lived in Maryland,  Colorado, and Mexico. Although she currently focuses on painting, Ingrid’s current style reflects the many years she spent working exclusively in paper collage. Recurring themes in Ingrid’s work include transcendence, regeneration, idealism and humanity's quest for justice. Eclectically inspired by the organic shapes observed in nature, the decorative geometry in folk art, and activist poster artists of the 20th century, Ingrid's current work establishes a dialogue between figurative and abstract visual lexicons.
